Pattersons celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

John F. and Charlotte Patterson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 30 with a mass and family luncheon at St. Mary’s Church. Attendees included 16 (of their 17) grandchildren, their two great-grandchildren, and their six children and spouses (pictured, left to right): Earl, Greg, David, Charlotte, John F., Margaret, John T. and Paul.  Earl Patterson served as master of ceremonies, while Fr. John Meinhold gave the blessing.
John F. Patterson and Charlotte Osterhaus were married June 1, 1953, at St. Mary’s Church, Bloomington, with best man Gerald Osterhaus and maid of honor Ann (Smart) Knautz, both of whom attended the event. Also attending were the bride’s sister Annette Bird and brothers Gerald and Harold “Buzz” Osterhaus and wife Maureen, along with the groom’s first cousins and their spouses: Ann Knautz, Susan (Smart) Soppe and Carol Smart.
