The students are back, and so are alcohol-related violations of state law and city ordinances.
The first week of classes at UW–Platteville included these violations, according to Platteville police:
Bradley G. Hong, 21, Osseo: Ticketed for open intoxicants in public Sept. 2 at 12:45 a.m. in front of the Badger Bar, 35 N. Second St.
Ryan N. Gosdeck, 23, Platteville: Arrested for open intoxicants and resisting or obstructing an officer Friday at 9:06 p.m. Police observed an individual with an open intoxicant in front of Char Bar, 60 N. Second St. When the officer tried to contact Gosdeck, he ran into the bar, where the officer arrested him, according to police.
Tyler J. Swenson, 19, Platteville: Arrested for underage drinking and presenting false identification Friday at 10:56 p.m. Swenson was cited after police made contact “with an intoxicated underage suspect” at Fourth Street and Lewis Street.
Casey R. Firgens, 21, Platteville: Ticketed for open intoxicants Friday around 10:45 p.m. at Rountree Hall Apartments, 30 N. Elm St., and again in front of Boondocks Bar, 70 N. Second St., Saturday after 2 a.m.
Luke C. Sander, 21, Platteville: Cited for open intoxicants at Southwest Road and Chestnut Street Saturday after 11 p.m.
One police stop for a noise complaint at 205 E. Madison St. Saturday around 11 p.m. resulted in 12 citations.
Shaina Marie Kretchmer, 19, Platteville, Cora R. Hawes, 19, Potosi, Carrigan Cecil Hunter, 20, Chadwick, Ill., Olivia S. Bell, 20, Plainfield, Ill., Michael K. Dauphin, 20, Platteville, Keegan T. Neubauer, 19, DeKalb, Ill., and Brandie Jo Gelwicks, 18, Milledgeville, Ill., were all cited for underage alcohol violations.
Keali Jo Engelkens, 20, Milledgeville, Ill., Christopher Edward O’Brien, 20, Sterling, Ill., and Haley A. Salazar, 19, Sycamore, Ill., were cited for underage drinking.
Myles Anthony Dunlap, 21, Lanark, Ill., was also cited for open intoxicants. Ethan Paul Silvius, 21, Platteville, was cited for loud and unnecessary noise.
