Ag equipment vandalized

Several pieces of large agricultural equipment owned by Tom Kozelka, Prairie du Chien, were severely damaged on the night of Thursday, Oct. 31 or in the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 1, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

The equipment parked in a field along County E near Highway 27 in Seneca Township included a combine, tractor and wagons.  The wiring and tires of the equipment were extensively vandalized in the incident, according to Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick. The sheriff indicated the damage may be “several hundred thousand dollars.”

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department is continuing an investigation into the vandalism of the equipment. Anyone with information about the crime, or any activity noticed in the area on the night the crime was committed, is being urged to call the sheriff’s department at 608-326-0241. Any information supplied to Crimestoppers leading to an arrest or conviction may result in a reward of up to $1,000 for the caller.
