A 19-year-old Montfort man faces eight charges after his arrest on North Second Street early Saturday morning.

Logan J. Mills faces two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer and underage drinking, and charges of battery to law officers/fire fighters, possession of marijuana, open intoxicants, and criminal damage to property.

Mills was observed by Platteville police outside the Char Bar, 60 N. Second St., with an open intoxicant around 1:50 a.m. When police stopped Mills, Mills provided “false identification multiple times,” according to police. Mills then began fighting when officers tried to arrest him, with one officer receiving minor injuries.

A search of Mills revealed a small amount of marijuana, according to police.

Mills is scheduled to appear in Grant County Circuit Court in Lancaster Nov. 26.
