Guest Night Banquet features raptor expert

Former wildlife rehabilitator and recently retired falconer Maggie Jones, of Blue River, will speak about Wisconsin’s eagles at the Boscobel Christian Women’s Fellowship’s annual Guest Night Banquet on Saturday, April 29.

Wisconsin is home to two species of eagle, the golden and the bald eagle. Yet many people mistake them as being the same species, according to Jones. Just a few years ago, she says, a photo of a golden eagle was submitted and run in the Dial, misidentified as a bald eagle.

“I always meant to write in about that,” she says with a slight touch of rueful humor, “but it just got away from me.”
