Senior Center Music
and Lunch
DARLINGTON – The Senior Center will have their Lunch and Music special on Thursday, July 20 and 27 at the Darlington Senior Center. On July 20, there will be a steak lunch at 11:30 a.m. and on July 27 there will be music by Rosalie and Ron Kittleson. It is $4.50 for the lunch. RSVP by July 17 to 776-4969.
Shullsburg Music
in the Park
SHULLSBURG – The 2017 Shullsburg Music in the Park schedule continues on Thursday, July 20 with Hard Salami. Food and beverages provided by the Russell Law Office to benefit the Shullsburg Girls Basketball program. All concerts are at Badger Park in Shullsburg and go from 7:00-8:30 p.m. All are free of charge and are rain or shine. Bring your lawn chair. Kids Fish-a-ree
DARLINGTON – The Kids Fish-a-ree will be Saturday, July 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. along the Pecatonica River between Xtreme Clean and Annie’s Bar & Grill on Ann Street in Darlington. Registration is 7:30-9:00 a.m. Registration for age groups 9-13, 6-8, and 5 & under. Fish until 10:30 a.m. Prizes 10:30-11:30 a.m. Bait will be provided Please bring your own fishing poles. Fish-a-ree supported and provided by area merchants. Any merchant or individual wishing to donate cash or prizes, contact Jim or Jay at Mathys Ace Hardware at 776-3729.
Day of Baseball
MADISON – Save the date for a Day of Baseball Sunday, July 23 with the Madison Mallards at the Duck Pond. Bus Ride, Game Ticket and All-you-can-eat lunch $30. Contact Bobby Long for details and to set up a pick-up time at 608-776-4872.
Tunes at Twilight
DARLINGTON – Tunes at Twilight will be every Sunday evening in July from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Darlington Veterans Memorial Park. In case of rain, everything will be moved to the Community Center Gym. Bring a blanket, lawn chair & appetite. Summer treats will be sold on location by local organizations. July 23, the Mal-O-Dua will grace the park with their music.
Summer Outreach Adult Education Classes
DARLINGTON – The summer session for the SW Tech-Darlington Outreach Adult Education classes will be June 6 through July 25, Tuesdays only, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Job Center Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Darlington Municipal Building. DHS Class of 1948 Reunion
DARLINGTON – The Darlington High School Class of 1948 reunion will be held at the Darlington Country Club on Sunday, July 30 at 11:30 a.m.
Red Cracker Fest
SOUTH WAYNE – Come on out and enjoy the 22nd Annual Red Cracker Fest on Friday and Saturday, July 28 and 29 located along Hwy 11 on the East end of South Wayne. Free will donations-with the proceeds going to the South Wayne Community Park. Friday from 5-8 p.m., enjoy BBQ ribs and all the trimmings. Stay for a slow pitch tournament at 6 p.m. and a variety show from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Accidentals Band will be rocking and rolling from 7:30-10:30 p.m. with Long Hard Ride DJ going strong from 10:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Saturday starts out at 10 a.m. with a kid’s ball game-slow pitch tournament. A euchre tournament begins at 12 p.m. and Jackie Lee will be performing from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Ghost in the Room Band will start up at 4-8 p.m. followed by The Unusuals Band from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Long Hard Ride DJ ends the night at 2 a.m. Stop on over to South Wayne for a great time!
Community Blood Drive
DARLINGTON - The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to resolve to give blood regularly. Sixteen year olds are accepted with parental consent. New donors must bring a photo ID and another form of ID. American Legion Raffle Fundraiser
DARLINGTON – Darlington American Legion Post 214 will be holding its Summer Picnic at the Legion Post on Wednesday August 2.  All Legion, Auxiliary, SAL members and their families are welcomed to attend.  Social Hour will start at 6 p.m. with supper being served at 7 p.m..  The Post will furnish hamburgers, brats and hotdogs and everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass.  Short meetings will follow the supper and then the Post will have the $10,000 Fundraising Raffle Drawing.  If you have not purchased a ticket yet, there are a few of the $100 tickets left.  Contact Dan O’Brien if you are interested in purchasing one.
