Polar Plunge proceeds presented
4-27 Polar Plunge

Lee Lake Polar Plunge main coordinator Teri Benning had the following to say about the proceeds from this year’s event. “What a difference a week makes. Caz Fisheree had 60 degree weather - we barely topped 30. They had sunny skies - we had clouds and flurries (along with freezing rain the day before). They had ice on Lee Lake - we didn’t! But that didn’t in any way slow us down - or stop people from showing their support for our 17th annual event. Checks were presented tonight representing our total. $30,000! A check was presented to members of the board from Greater Richland Area Cancer Elimination  –  GRACE  –  (pictured here) in the amount of $24,685; and $5,315 will be sent to the American Cancer Society. It still leaves me in awe every year when we present these checks  – the generosity of SO MANY people  – the time commitment by all those involved. The amount of $30,000 in a community of just over 300 people  –  that swells to hundreds. Our total  –  $30,000  –  is unbelievable. Just plain unbelievable. This brings our 17-year total to over $287,000. See you in 2018  –  and bring on $300,000!”
