Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman visited the UW–Platteville campus to share the refined vision and new branding of the Universities of Wisconsin.

The presentation began with a video on the UWP campus’ importance and impact on our students and community. The video can be viewed at www.youtube.com/ watch?v=PqFOmB0K1T0.

Rothman then promoted the importance of a unified effort where all 13 universities provide a balanced and shared portfolio of programs that meet the needs of their local region but also offer specialized programs that attract from across the state and beyond. Rothman’s comments echoed conversations that Chancellor Tammy Evetovich and her leadership team have shared with the community and the campus through the recent budget alignment process and ongoing strategic planning initiatives.

Rothman spoke on the importance of higher education in preserving democracy and supporting the Wisconsin Idea. Local community members were encouraged to take pride in their campuses and to call for their state legislators to maintain and increase the investment in human capital.
