The Hillsboro City Council approved a new tourism logo July 20 during its regular monthly meeting.

According to City Admnistrator Adam Sonntag,  the overall concept is to give the sense of energy, environment, and outdoor recreation.

The logo represents Hillsboro, nestled in the hills of the Driftless region. The sun also adds an arch that represents the idea of Hillsboro as a gateway to the Driftless region. The playful tree represents the idea of a “Nature’s Playground,” as there are many outdoor recreation opportunities in the area. The tree also is set in the foot of the hills, recognizing the established roots of our community in the surrounding hills. The green and yellow colors reflect nature and agriculture themes.

Hillsboro will also be using the new tagline “Nestled in, Ready to Play!” to promote its tourism efforts.
