MIFFLIN — The Iowa–Grant School Board approved a 6.6 percent mil rate increase Oct. 28.

School district property taxpayers will pay $12.58 per $1,000 assessed valuation, up from last year’s $11.80 per $1,000.

The owner of a $150,000 house will pay $1,887 in school taxes, up from $1,770 last year.

The mil rate is based on a tax levy of $2,864,311 to fund a 2013–14 budget of $8,165,710. The school district is receiving $194,000 less in state aid than last year.
