The Platteville Common Council voted Oct. 8 to prohibit vehicle traffic on North Second Street just north of Main Street between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The traffic ban is one of the proposals proposed by city staff and bar owners to deal with alcohol-related problems stemming from overserved bar patrons.

The ban will allow delivery vehicles for the new Gina’s Restaurant, 45 N. Second St., to load in front of the restaurant.
