Platteville police Sgt. Andrea Droessler graduated from the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Command College June 5.

Wisconsin Law Enforcement Command College, a collaboration between UW–Madison and the state Justice Department, is a nationally accredited leadership and management program. Throughout the six week course participants gain knowledge in various topics such as ethics, strategic planning, risk management, problem solving, succession planning, project and crisis management.

“We have made a practice of sending our sergeants to command level training in order to prepare and assist them with their current duties and to further their career development,” said Police Chief Doug McKinley.

Participants represented state agencies, county sheriff’s departments and municipal police departments. Droessler was the only attendee from Southwest Wisconsin.

The course covers a broad range of topics and it focuses on new developments and trends in the field of law enforcement, management and leadership.
