Two rural Hillsboro teenagers were injured in a one-vehicle crash north of the city Nov. 13.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, at 8 a.m. Madison Mitchell, 17, was driving a four-door pickup truck on Co. F when she  lost control of the vehicle while coming out of a curve.

Her truck traveled off the right side of the roadway, veered back onto the road and went off the left side of the roadway. It struck an embankment, traveled downward and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on its roof.

Mitchell sustained minor injuries.

Two 15-year-old passengers were riding in the truck. A female suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and a male  was not injured.

All were wearing seat belts and were transported to Gundersen-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro as a precaution. All three have since been released.

The Hillsboro Area Ambulance, Hillsboro Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
