Man escapes injury when truck catches fire

A rural Viroqua man escaped his truck as it caught fire shortly before midnight Feb. 12.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Timothy Seland, 51, was driving on Hage Lane near Co. B in Coon township when his truck caught fire. Seland was able to get out of the vehicle and was not injured.

The fire appeared to start in the engine compartment. The truck was a total loss.

Assisting at the scene was the Coon Valley Fire Department.

The accident remains under investigation.
