No current candidates for Fennimore mayor position
City Hall

The Jan. 6 deadline has came and went, and no one submitted paperwork to run for the position of mayor for the City of Fennimore, according to Fennimore City Clerk Ashley Edge.

In December, current Mayor Ryan Boebel announced that he will not being seeking reelection.

‘It’s been 10 years, a nice even number,” Boebel stated when explaining his decision not to run for reelection. “Time for some new blood in the position.”

Even with the Jan. 6 deadline to appear on the April 7 ballot, potential mayoral candidates may file paperwork with the city clerk’s office to run as a “registered write-in candidate.”

Seeking reelection for two-year terms in 2026 are common council members Jonah Roth, 1st Ward; Sarah Kretchman, 2nd Ward; Marc Chiefari, 3rd Ward; and Pete Adam, 4th Ward. Chiefari is running as a registered write-in candidate.

All are running unopposed as no other potential candidates filed paperwork to appear on the April ballot.

It’s the same story for the School Board of Fennimore Community Schools as all three members up for reelection for three-year terms this spring, Sheila Ruchti, Herman Maier, and Matt Rutkowski, are running unopposed.
