The Fennimore City Council held a brief monthly meeting on Monday, May 12.
In her report, Fennimore City Clerk Ashley Edge wrote along that the Fennimore Community Pool currently does not have am official opening date (as of press time), the pool does have 19 current lifeguards for the pool for the summer.
She went on to report that the pool will have some new guards this year who seem eager to work, along with our returning guards, and we feel like we have a good group overall.
Fennimore Police Chief Chris French sin his report stated that “Fennimore Officers remain busy with investigations and court appearances related to the investigations. Even though some of the investigations we’ve worked on have resulted in charges and convictions, the investigations have also uncovered other matters unrelated to the initial complaints that need to be followed up on.”
The council approved bids for two current city projects, the first being the tear down/new build at the same location of the quonset hut located on 7th Street.
The demolition bid was awarded to Northern Group, and the construction of the replacement building was awarded to Jim’s Building Center.
A chip sealing bid on city roads was awarded to Fahrner Aspalt Sealer to extend the life of the roads, seal cracks, and overall make everything look nicer.
The council then went into a employee review closed session.
The next meeting of the Fennimore City Council is scheduled for Monday, June 16, in the council chambers of City Hall.
