Man arrested after restaurant break-in

A 25-year-old Dubuque man was arrested in Jamestown after a hit-and-run crash in Platteville early Sunday.

Jimmane Pittman was seen by a Grant County sheriff’s deputy trying to break into the Country Heights Supper Club around 3:55 a.m. 

Platteville police reported that a car at the scene driven by Christine Garrigus, 24, Dubuque, had been involved in a hit-and-run crash in Platteville. Fresh damage was seen on the vehicle, the Sheriff's Office said.

Garrigus’ car was found to have money, drug paraphernalia and prepackaged marijuana, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Pittman was arrested on Dubuque County felony warrants that included burglary and drunk driving. He was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Grant County Circuit Court in Lancaster Wednesday on possession with intent to deliver marijuana, second-offense possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.

Platteville police are investigating the hit-and-run.
