A hot weekend ended with heavy thunderstorms hitting the area this past Sunday night and Monday morning. Residents started their holiday week by getting out chain saws and rakes to clean up the mess. Strong winds and lightening sliced through trees, sent branches and  random items scattered through out yards, and damaged buildings.   Benton’s Village Park had several trees down and branches hanging off of play ground equipment.   Across the Benton Village  Park, St. Patrick’s church had a large tree uprooted by the storm.
