Burnell “Bernie” Jones, 79, Platteville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Gray’s Nursing Home in Platteville after a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family when God took him to his home.
Funeral services with Fireman’s Memorial will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville. Rev. Mike Short will officiate. Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville. A luncheon will follow at the Platteville Elks Lodge. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Bernie Jones Memorial Fund.
