Charles Thomas Lattin, age 65 of Darlington, passed away from injuries sustained in a tractor vs. semi accident on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.  He was born Feb. 6, 1950 in Dodgeville, the son of Harold and Grace (Calvert) Lattin.  He attended Willow Branch School and graduated from Belmont High School in 1968.  He was united in marriage to Terry (Brogley) on June 10, 1972 in Platteville.  Charles Thomas was a self-employed farmer all of his life on the family farms, with his three sons, which his son Christopher is currently farming. 
Charles Thomas is survived by his wife: Terry at home; three sons: Christopher Charles of Darlington, Kerry Lee of Darlington, Kevin Thomas (Shannon) Lattin of Winnebago, Ill.; four grandchildren: Kendra Lynn, Ethan James Lee, Tyler Thomas and Tate Andrew Lattin; one sister: Carolyn (Alden) Kaukl of Madison; mother-in-law: Virginia Brogley of Platteville; brother-in-law: Todd (Paula) Brogley of Platteville; sisters-in-law: Tina (Dave) Osterholz of Platteville, Tami (Scott) McIntosh of Dodgeville, Amy (Todd) Mowry of Platteville; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law: James Brogley and his sister-in-law Angie Richards.
Charles Thomas was a member of Pleasant View Primitive Methodist Church, Belmont and Pleasant View 4-H club for many years.  He enjoyed showing his beef cattle at the Belmont School Fair and at the Lafayette County Fair.  Charles Thomas was also a member of the Belmont Timber Wolf Snowmobile Club and enjoyed attending stock car races.  He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.  He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 15691 County Road K, Darlington with Pastor Ronald Fladseth of Pleasant View Primitive Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington.  A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Darlington and on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.  Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.

Marilyn Jean Myers Ellis, 85, most recently of St. Cloud, MN passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A celebration of life for Marilyn will take place at First Lutheran Church in Hinckley, MN on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Marilyn asked that family and friends wear bright colors in remembrance of her love for flowers.  Burial will take place at the Lutheran Memorial Cemetery in Hinckley following the service, with a luncheon afterwards at the church.Marilyn loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed.  Our thanks to those who provided care and support in her last few weeks.
