David L. Hendrickson, age 76 of Darlington, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 at his home. He was born July 9, 1940 in Darlington the son of Morris and Stella (Olson) Hendrickson. Dave was united in marriage to Caroline B. Hoff on July 19, 1964 in Darlington. He lived in Darlington his entire life. Dave joined the U.S. Army in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1963. Upon his return to Darlington, he began working for Glendenning Redi Mix where he remained for 43 years until his retirement in 2008. Following his retirement, David worked part time at the Super 8 Hotel in Darlington as a custodian.
Dave is survived by his children: Wanda (Robert Francomb) Badertscher and Dale (Sandy) Hendrickson both of Darlington; step-daughters: Jean (Lupe) Young of Edgerton and Vicki Hoff of Wisconsin Dells; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Sheldon Hendrickson and Jim (Rosemary) Hendrickson both of Darlington; three sisters: Mary (Pete) Schmit of Mineral Point, Shelby “Sue” Hendrickson of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Julie (Pat) Andreas of Albany. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Caroline; two grandsons: Dakota Hendrickson and Kyle Young; five brothers: Larry, Donald, Robert, Richard, and Kenneth Hendrickson; and one sister: Alice Bruyere.
Dave loved to keep himself busy with work, whether it be in his yard, on cars, or at work in general. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and canoe racing with his brother Sheldon. Dave cherished the time he spent with his family creating memories that will stay with them forever. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main Street, Darlington). A graveside service followed at Union Grove Cemetery where military graveside rites were accorded by Bates-O’Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #251 of Darlington. Jane Ann Gainor, 57, of Boscobel, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and her cherished Persian cat, Gabbi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Rolling Ground, with visitation at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Tom Huff will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will also be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center, with Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard service to follow at 4:00 p.m.
