BLOOMINGTON – George N. “Butch” Vorwald, age 82, of Bloomington, WI, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Texas on March 30, 1937, the son of George L. and Marie (Schmitz) Vorwald. Butch went to elementary school at St. Mary’s in Bloomington and then at St. Clement in Lancaster before going on to attend Loras Academy in Dubuque, IA, and graduating from Lancaster High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a paratrooper and medic from 1955-1961.
