    Herbie S. Sigafus, 69, of Gratiot, passed away, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born January 12, 1946, in Freeport, Ill. to Milo and Genevieve (Stephenson) Sigafus. Herb grew up in Warren/Gratiot area, and attended South Wayne High School. In 1965 he joined the U.S. Marine Corp and served two tours in Vietnam.
    He was united in marriage to Sharon Signer on June 18, 1971, at Red Oak, Ill. Herb and Sharon owned and operated their own trucking business, S&S Transfer, from 1973 to November 2008.
    Herb was a member of Gratiot VFW post #9692; and the American Legion. He always enjoyed the outdoors, riding Harley, horseback riding, fishing, swimming in his pool, bowling, and playing ball. He loved his pets and spending time with family and friends. His great personality and sense of humor will be remembered by all.
    Herb is survived by his wife, Sharon;  son, Brian (Jamie) Sigafus of Gratiot; granddaughters, Mikayla and Aleigha Sigafus; grandson, Nathan Sigafus, Trevor Nichols (Mariah Kammes) and Trevor’s daughter, Tessa Nichols of Belmont; mother-in-law, Lucille Signer of Gratiot, sisters, Pat (Elton) Seffrood of Browntown, Judy (Bill) Heitz of Rockford, Ill.; Leila (Jim) Dietmeier of Graycliff, Montana; brothers-in-law, Gary (Sharon) Signer of Gratiot, Ronnie (Shelly) Signer of Shullsburg; several nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Mike Sigafus; and father-in-law, Wallace Sigafus.
    A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 5th, 2015, from 12 to 4:00 p.m. at the Old Middle School, 5630 Main Street, Gratiot, WI; with Military Honors at 12:00 Noon. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
