Hugh O’Connell, 72, of Platteville, passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2026, while at home, surrounded by the comfort of his wife and children.

A small graveside service with military honors will be performed at Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Hugh’s name to the MS Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, causes that were dear to Hugh’s heart. Kramer-Grau Funeral Homes & Crematory in Platteville is entrusted with his care.
