James Lee Sorum of Soldiers Grove, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on May 15, 1947, to Robert and Mildred (McDaniel) Sorum. Jim was a member of the final graduating class of Soldiers Grove High School in 1965. He went on to attend Madison Technical College, earning an Associate’s Degree. He lived in Middleton for several years before moving to Cross Plains in 1978, and eventually returned to his hometown of Soldiers Grove in 1998. He was united in marriage to Kathy George on July 27, 1968.

Funeral services took place Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 303 Church St, Soldiers Grove, with Pastor Michele Engh officiating. A visitation was held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sime Funeral Home. An additional visitation was held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Sime Funeral Home in Readstown is serving Jim’s family.
