June Valerie Matteson, River Falls, died peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. She was 76 years old and in the loving company of her family.

She was born on June 8, 1938 to Albin and M. Corrine (Fredrickson) Anderson in Ettrick. A graduate of UW-Platteville, she earned a teaching degree and enjoyed teaching English to junior high school students. She finished her career and retired from St. Bridget Catholic School.

Memorial service will be held at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls on August 25 at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. Gerald Harris officiating. Private burial will be held at St. Bridget Cemetery.

A celebration of her life will be held from 12-3 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
