Lester “Leck” J. Lathrop, 94, of Loves Park passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015.

Born March 8, 1921, in Valley, Wis., the son of Austin and Sylvia (Brown) Lathrop.  Married 69 years to Delia A. Sneath.  Employed 36 years by Barber-Colman, retired 1983.  The family he loved so much will miss him greatly.  Dad was a kind and gentle soul who lived with honor and integrity.  He had an impressive inner strength that got us all through the many trials of life.  He taught us many things, and was always concerned with the well-being of others over himself.  He enjoyed his antique clocks, NASCAR, photography, going to Renfo Valley for country music, and antique cars.  He was also very proud of his service in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1939 to 1941, in Wiscconsin.

Survivors include wife, Delia; sons, Michael (Dory), Stanley (Darlene) and Jeff (Julie) Lathrop; grandchildren, Eric (Darla), Stephanie (Rich), Chad (Crystal), Joshua, Johnathon, Robert (Annie) and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Dylan, Brooke, Kaci, Evelyn and William; great-great-grandchild, Riley; sisters, Linda Jackson and Alice Jenkins.
Preceded in death by brothers, Keith and Leon; sister, Kathleen; and great-grandchild, Cody.

The family wishes to thank the staff and his wonderful caregivers at River Bluff Nursing Home for their care and companionship to him, as well as Hospice and Reverend Frank Ciprys.

Service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time.  Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visit delehantyfh.com.
