Marlene Joan (Argall) Schmitz, 78, Platteville, was born to eternal life on May 21, following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Father Faustino Ruiz and Deacon Bill Bussan will concelebrate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Platteville at a later date. Visitation was on Tuesday, May 24 from 5–8 p.m. at Melby Funeral Home and Crematory in Platteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Marlene’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the cancer patient support group of your choice. Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.

Judy Buss, born May 25, 1939 in the village of Belmont to Gilbert and Anna (Schult) Ludlum. She died May 25, 2025 in Southwest Health in Platteville, surrounded by family on her 86th birthday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 29, at noon at St. Philomena Catholic Church.  Fr. Bernie Rott will officiate.  Burial will be in the Belmont Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the Gorgen Funeral Home in Mineral Point on Wednesday, May 28 from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 11 until 11:50 a.m. at the church.
