Robert E. “Bob” Moore, age 83 of Argyle formerly of Shullsburg passed away on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Bloomfield Manor in Dodgeville. He was born Oct. 28, 1933 in Shullsburg the son of Glen S. and Fern L. (Redfern) Heller. Bob graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1951. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Brunskill of Shullsburg and later married Rita (Buschor) Davis on Sept. 30, 1988 at her home. Bob grew up in Shullsburg. Following his graduation from high school he joined the U.S. Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954. Bob then worked for Savannah Ordinance in Savannah, Ill. for 5 years. In 1959, he started working for John Deere in Dubuque where he was a maintenance electrician for 30 years until his retirement in 1989.
Bob is survived by his wife Rita at home; three children: Jim Moore of Pleasant Hill, Mo., Tammy (Dave) Humphrey of Shullsburg, and Doug (Mindy) Moore of Overland Park, Kan.; four step-children: Karl (Kay) Davis of rural Argyle, Diane Davis of Madison, Julie Wilhelmson of Tomah, and Linda (Mike) Erickson of rural Argyle; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law: Tim Champion, and one half-brother: Jack Moore.
Bob was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg and McCann-Richards American Legion Post #105 of Shullsburg.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church Street, Shullsburg) with Rev. Jeffrey A. Meyer officiating where military rites were accorded by McCann-Richards American Legion Post #105 of Shullsburg. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. A visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family.
