Vern Walter Anderson, 70, passed away in the comfort of his home in Soldiers Grove, WI, on June 18, 2025. The youngest of four boys, he was born in Scottville, MI, on December 23, 1954, to Joe and Elvie (Young) Anderson. As a child, he picnicked on Lake Michigan, camped, participated in Boy Scouts, and learned to fish and hunt, his two favorite lifelong hobbies. After graduating from Mason County Central High School in 1973, he earned a Bachelor’s in Education from Central Michigan University.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills, WI, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be Friday, June 27, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church in Readstown, WI, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Peter Beckstrand will be officiating. Burial will take place at Franklin Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Soldiers Grove, followed by a luncheon at the Readstown Advancement Building.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peace Lutheran Church or Ridge & Valley Pursuits, which mentors youth through hunting and fishing education.
