On Saturday, December 6, 2014 Virgil O. Grimsled, sank his last putt completing a round of life spanning 82 years. His final handicap was cancer that ended his life here on earth. He completed his last round surrounded by those he loved and who dearly loved him.
A celebration of Virgil’s life was held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Freeman Lutheran Church at rural Ferryville. Pastor Doug Andersen officiated. The organist was Sharon Alverson. Burial was in the church cemetery. Military rites were provided by the DeSoto VFW Post No. 8123, Stoddard American Legion Post No. 315 and the U.S. Army Honors Team.
Friends called on Wednesday, December 10 at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua where there was a special military tribute.
