Virginia Caroline Murphy of Gays Mills passed away on August 31, 2025, at Soldiers Grove Health Services at the age of 92.  She was born at home in Sauk County, Wisconsin, the third oldest of thirteen children to John and Clara Schmid.

The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Soldiers Grove Health Services and St. Croix Hospice Services for their kind and loving care of Virginia over the final weeks of her life.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by her family and community.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Phillip Catholic Church, Rolling Ground with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m.  Burial will be in the church cemetery with lunch following in the church basement.
