William Louis Schaefer, 23, of Platteville, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, on July 4, 2025.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 11, at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville.  Rev. Jasmine Tesdahl will officiate.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville.  Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at the church and will continue on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family.  Memorials may be made to the William L. “Will” Schaefer Memorial Fund.  Online condolences can be made at www.melbyfh.com.
