REEDSBURG — As the first high school fall sport to begin the 2025-26 school year, girls’ golf competition kicked things off last Thursday afternoon at the Reedsburg Country Club, where first-year head coach Andy Haas and his Lancaster Flying Arrows participated in a three-girl four-ball tournament.

Of the 21 competing teams, the three-person squad of senior Lynell Miller, junior Margot Dhyanchand and junior Greta Jensen finished 10th with a combined score of 294.

Miller, who finished 18th of 70 individuals, shot an 88 on the par-72 course, while Dhyanchand finished 27th overall with a 96 and Jensen tied for 48th with a 110.

The Lancaster 2 team of sophomore Eliza Haas, junior Lily Vepserman and sophomore Adaline Helmke finished 19th of 21 teams with a combined score of 330, getting a 104 from Haas, a 113 from Vesperman and a 113 from Helmke.

Medalist honors were shred by Waunakee junior Callie Shipshock and Tomah senior Karma Hasselberger, who each shot a three-over-par 75, while Waunakee won the team title with a score of 246.

On  Friday morning, the Flying Arrows competed at the Darlington Country Club, along with conference rivals Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton and Darlington.

With a team score of 208, Lancaster finished 10 strokes ahead of SW/CCB to take the team title, and 64 strokes ahead of the host Redbirds.

Medalist honors went to SW/CC/B senior Brooklyn Bussan, who shot a three-over-par round of 38.

Miller finished second overall with a 43, while teammates Dhyanchand finished with a 46, Haas a 58, Jensen a 61 and Vesperman a 62.

This past Monday afternoon, SW/CC/B hosted Darlington and Lancaster at Cole Acres Golf Course, and while most golfers got three or four holes in, the meet was eventually called on account of a heavy downpour.

Following this past Tuesday’s meet at Prairie du Chien, the Flying Arrow golf team will compete at Darlington on Friday before heading to Wisconsin Dells next Wednesday.
