Murray, who coached volleyball for 12 seasons at Potosi, was one of five inductees to be honored at a ceremony in conjunction with the WVCA All-State Banquet on Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Monona Terrace in Madison.
Murray began coaching volleyball in 1991 at Cuba City, where she coached at the middle school, freshman and J.V. levels before filling the varsity position at Potosi High School in 2001.
In her first season as varsity coach at Potosi, Murray led the Chieftains to a Six Rivers conference title with a record of 11–1, and advanced to play in the WIAA Division 4 state championship game where they brought home the state runner-up trophy.
In her second season in 2002, the Chieftains went 12–0 in conference play to win back-to-back conference titles and again advanced to play in the WIAA state tournament, where they brought home the D4 state championship trophy.
In her 12-year coaching career at Potosi, Murray accumulated a record of 220–102–9, coaching from 2001–08, then again in 2014 and another stint from 2019–21.

At Potosi High School, Murray led her teams to five conference titles, six regionals titles and three sectional titles. She was also named the Six Rivers West Coach of the Year six times before retiring at the conclusion of the 2021 season.
With her induction into the WVCA Hall of Fame, Murray joins a list of acclaimed coaches from Potosi High School that includes: Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee Ron Kading, Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee Jane Briehl and Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee Eric Briehl.
