In Tainter Creek Watershed
Cover Crops planted

TAINTER CREEK WATERSHED - In 2019 the Tainter Creek Watershed Council reported 487 acres planted in cover crops in the watershed.   In 2020, the acres reported increased by over 60 percent, totalling 800 acres.     Those acres were planted across 23 farms, an increase of nine new farms for 2020.

For those of you wondering how much of the TC Watershed is covered in green, check out these stats: utilizing corn and soybean acres from USDA NASS CropScape 2019, Tainter Creek Watershed has about nine percent of the 9,196 tillable corn and bean acres covered up.  This is a big increase from last year's five percent.
