Entrants sought for Vernon County Dairy Princess contest

The Vernon County Dairy Promotion Committee is again sponsoring the Dairy Princess contest and entry blanks are now available at the University Extension Office.

The applicants must be 16 years old but not have reached their 19th birthday as of  June 1. They must be a resident of Vernon County and able to travel in Vernon County throughout the year.

The Vernon County Dairy Princess represents the dairy industry in the county at events throughout the year. Major activities will include dairy product promotion, breed twilight meetings, banquets, shows, and speaking at club and civic group meetings. The Dairy Princess will receive a $100 savings bond and the Dairy Attendant, a $50 savings bond.

The Princess will be crowned at the Dairy Breakfast on the Farm, June 20, at the Eirik and Cheryl Eness farm, Ontario.  

The deadline to enter is May 29.  Call the UW-Extension office, 637-5276, for contest information and entry forms.
