Cole Cooper, an employee of Culver’s in Platteville who is well known by customers for his handlebar mustache and radio personality voice, agreed to shave in an effort to raise money for the Platteville Food Pantry.

Bruce Kroll, owner of the Platteville Culver’s, suggested the Platteville Food Pantry as a worthy recipient for this fundraiser.

“After the holidays we all tend to forget about the continued financial struggles some families have,” said Kroll. “The Platteville Food Pantry does an excellent job of distributing food supplies to these families in need.”

Culver’s sold paper mustaches for $1 each in January. Each sold mustache was displayed in the restaurant for the customers to see. The fundraiser raised more than $550 for the Platteville Food Pantry.

The Platteville Food Pantry is located in the Lutheran Church of Peace, 1345 N. Water St. The Food Pantry is open every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the third Thursday of the month from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
