Mound City Bank reaches earnings record in 100th year

More than 200 shareholders and employees attended the Mound City Financial Services, Inc. Shareholder Celebration and Annual Shareholder Meeting in UW–Platteville’s Ullsvik Hall Velzy Commons March 15.

In a special ceremony, Mound City Bank was honored for its 100-year anniversary, having opened on Feb. 18, 1915.
The bank was presented a citation by the Wisconsin Legislature from Rep. Travis Tranel and Sen. Howard Marklein’s offices.

The Wisconsin Bankers Association presented  a 100th anniversary commemorative plaque while a Certificate of Commendation was sent from Gov. Scott Walker’s office.

Directors Keith Buchert, Donna Hoppenjan and Phil Karrmann were elected to serve another three-year term.  Other Board of Directors include Barry Brodbeck, Steve Brogley, Dennis Cooley, Robert Just, Richard Kopp and Chairman of the Board Craig Trongaard.

President Donna Hoppenjan reported record earnings of $2.5 million. Total assets have grown to $288 million as of Dec. 31, a 3.16 percent increase over the previous year.

Mound City Bank has more than 70 employees with branches located in Belmont, Cuba City, Platteville, Mineral Point and Mount Horeb.
