Stanley Thomas of McGregor, Iowa-based Thomas Tuckpointing began working on the Hillsboro Sentry Enterprise office July 31. According to Wikipedia, tuckpointing “is a way of using two contrasting colors of mortar in the mortar joints of brickwork, one colour matching the bricks themselves, to give an artificial impression that very fine joints have been made.” Wikipedia adds that “Although originally considered to be part of the bricklaying trade, it is now mainly performed by tuckpointing specialists” like Thomas.
