2 arrested on warrants
One to be sentenced on felonies, other faces eight charges

Platteville police arrested two Dubuque men on outstanding warrants Thursday evening.

An off-duty Grant County sheriff’s deputy called police to tell them that two men with outstanding warrants were sitting at 401 N. Water St., around 7:20 p.m.

Police arrested Tony Jamar Criss, 27, and Jerome Odell Dyson Jr., 25.

Criss pleaded no contest April 23 to a felony charge of second-offense possession of marijuana and a charge of felony bail jumping as a repeater. An additional possession as a repeater charge was dismissed. Sentencing is set for June 18. He faces 9½ years in prison and a $10,000 fine if sentenced to the maximum, plus six years per count as a repeat offender.

Dyson faces four counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, two counts of possession of marijuana, one count of battery and one count of disorderly conduct. The charges were filed in January 2012, February and March. He will be arraigned in Grant County Circuit Court Monday at 10:30 a.m.

Bond was set Friday at $1,000.
