Burglaries investigated

The Grant County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the burglary of rural Fennimore residence late last week.


During the daytime hours of Friday, Nov. 2, unknown person(s) entered the rural residence and removed multiple items of value. The burglary was reported to the sheriff’s department at approximately 3:45 p.m.


The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money in coins, several jewelry items and a television, according to a sheriff’s department news release.


As the investigation continues, the sheriff’s department asks that all local store clerks and bank employees to notify their local police department if anyone makes a purchase with an unusual amount of coins.

Cabins burglarized


The rural Fennimore burglary comes on the heels of burglaries of cabins in Jay’s Landing in Bagley.


Sometime during the overnight hours of Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27, someone forced entry into several cabins in Jay’s Landing.


No residents were in the cabins at the time of the burglaries. The burglar forced entry through locked doors to steal multiple items, according to a sheriff’s department news release.
