Hillsboro woman arrested in meth lab bust
Warrant issued for second suspect

One person was arrested, and a felony warrant issued for a second, Sept. 6 after Hillsboro police, along with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and the State Department of Criminal Investigations, executed a search warrant for illegal drugs at a residence at 923 Pine Ave.

According to a news release from Police Chief Thomas Richardson, Judy Downing, 50, was arrested and will face charges of possession of drug paraphernalia,  party to a crime manuafacturing of methamphetamine, maintaining a place used for manufacturing controlled substances, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Lucas Downing, 23, has a felony warrant out for his apprehension in connection with this case and will be facing charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of methamphetamine waste, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of materials for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Police searched the house and took numerous evidence.  The Department of Criminal Investigation collected and destroyed all hazardous substances.
