In an annual tradition, fourth-graders at Platteville Middle School sang the National Anthem before last Tuesdays boys basketball game against Darlngton at Platteville High School. Having the fourth-graders sing must have worked, because Platteville beat Darlington 6240.

The Platteville High School band is one of a decreasing number of high school bands that (1) plays at sporting events at all, and (2) stays and plays for the entire game. The band entertained the crowd at last Tuesday’s Parents Night win for the Hillmen boys, 62–40 over Darlington.
