Lafayette County Childrens Fair to be April 11
childrens fair
Lafayette County Childrens Coalition members made visits to local schools and daycares on Tuesday, April 7 to get children excited about the upcoming Childrens Fair.

The Lafayette County Celebrate Our Children Coalition will host the annual Children’s Fair on Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Darlington Elementary School gym.

The theme this year is “Be a Happy Camper.” Children can sign up at the door for a chance to win a brand new red wagon.
The doors will open at 10 a.m. with many camping themed booths available for attendees to visit until noon. From 10:30 to 11:15 there will be a DJ performance while children visit booths with some organized dance activities such as the chicken dance, limbo and more.

At 11:45 will be the prize drawing and presentation to the local food pantry. Everyone is encouraged to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item, and a presentation of the donations will be made to the local food pantry. Everyone who brings an item for the food pantry can enter a drawing to win a tent.

The wagon parade will take place at 11:50 and all attendees are encouraged to bring their own wagon to participate in the parade and dress up like they are going camping.

A free lunch for everyone will be served from noon to 1 p.m. The whole family will be able to enjoy this event with cotton candy, games, music, entertainment and so much more.

This is all made possible because of generous donations from Lafayette County businesses and individuals who all feel strongly about supporting healthy and educational events for children and their families.
