Four Crawford County health assessment events planned
Comm Hlth Needs Assessment
YOUR OPINION MATTERS is the slogan for the series of Community Health Assessment events being held throughout Crawford County in upcoming weeks. Pictured are a few members of the Community Health Needs Assessment Collaborative Committee, including (L-R): Roby Fuller, ADRC of Eagle Country; Jeff Kindrai, Grant County Health Department; Natalie Tollefson, Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics; Cindy Riniker, Crawford County Health Department; and Theresa Braudt, Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics.

CRAWFORD COUNTY - Area organizations are working in partnership to help improve the health of their communities, and the region. The collaborative group is hosting a number of one-hour focus groups across Crawford County, with the first of many to be held in Gays Mills on Monday, October 29. The focus group will be held in the Village Board Room, at the Gays Mills Community Commerce Center, beginning at 5 p.m.

A community-wide assessment will identify and prioritize the health needs by collecting and analyzing data and soliciting community input. The results will be used to develop strategies to address the prioritized needs, with the goal of contributing to improvements in the communities’ overall health. Collaborative partners include: Crossing Rivers Health, Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital and Clinics, Grant Regional Health Center, Grant and Crawford County Health Departments, UW Extension, Aging and Disability Resource Centers, as well as Southwest Tech. These organizations are combining resources to conduct the assessment across Crawford, Grant, and neighboring counties.

“I’d like to encourage everyone’s help with this research,” said Cindy Riniker, Crawford County Health Department. “Please take the time to attend an upcoming focus group, to ensure your voice is heard. If you’re unable to attend a focus group, please complete the survey available on your local hospital and county health department’s websites and social media pages, or directly on Facebook @CHNAVoice. Your input will make all the difference in helping us to understand how we can all work together to build a healthier future for our communities.”
