Minor injury in Genoa crash

A Stoddard man sustained a minor injury Sept. 10 in a two-vehicle collision in the village of Genoa.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Brandon VonRuden, 34, was hit in his face by a loose object after his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven bv Allison Godfrey, 25, of Holmen.

She was southbound on Hwy. 35 when she hit the rear of VonRuden’s vehicle as he was turning left onto Main Street at 7:20 a.m.

VonRuden, who was wearing a seatbelt, refused medical treatment. A five-year old in his vehicle was properly restrained in a child safety seat and was not injured.

Godfrey was also wearing a seatbelt and was also uninjured.

Assisting at the scene were the Genoa Fire Department and Genoa First Responders.

The accident remains under investigation.
