DARLINGTON – Members of the Driver Opera House Board of Directors signed a contract with Joe Daniels Construction Co., Inc. to begin work on the Driver Opera House’s first floor flood proofing with a winning bid of $1,425,825. The Driver Opera House also has a grant from the Wisconsin DNR for $555,000 to help fund the flood proofing phase of the project. The project will be beginning in the next few weeks with plans to be done by no later than Dec. 31, 2017. Due to what the project entails, Ann Street on the north side of the building, may be blocked off, along with parking in front of the building on Main Street. The first floor of the building will be completely removed to insure that the new floor will be up to code.
