Days before the Platteville Common Council considered changing the city’s dog ordinances, a Platteville woman was cited after a dog attack.

Police received a report of a black lab not on a leash attacking a dog in the owner’s yard Saturday around 6:25 p.m.

Police said the owner of the black dog took his dog without checking on the attacked dog. When police followed up, the dog was there, but not its owner.

Lacresa Lynn Halverson, 49, Platteville, was cited for allowing a dog to injure a domestic animal.
