The Crawford County Public Health Immunization Clinic will be held in the Gays Mills Community Commerce Center, located at 16381 State Highway 131, on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 3 to 4 p.m.

With Ebola and flu in the news, the public health nurses will lead a discussion on both. The community is encouraged to stop in to discuss these and any other current help topics with them.

Each month, the clinic offers all childhood vaccinations. Immunizations to children age 18 and younger, who either do not have insurance, are on Medicaid or BadgerCare, or who have insurance that does not cover immunizations are also free.

To prevent the spreading of the whooping cough disease Tdap is available free to everyone. People are also encouraged to stop in at the clinic to discuss their health concerns with a Public Health Nurse.

For those who will be attending the clinic with a child in need of a Varicella (chicken pox) vaccine, please notify the clinic by the day before the clinic. The vaccine is fragile and is only brought to the Gays Mills clinic upon request.

Zoster and flu vaccine are available as self-pay. Public Health is able to bill Medicare, Medicaid, Senior Preferred, Gundersen Lutheran and Health Traditions insurance for seasonal flu. There is a patient assistance program to help those who qualify pay for the zoster vaccine.

No appointment is necessary for the clinic.

If you are unable to attend the clinic in Gays Mills, additional clinics are available in Prairie du Chien in the Crawford County Public Health office at 225 North Beaumont Road, Suite 306. Clinics will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and Monday, Jan. 26 from 3 to 4 p.m.
